FAQ

Arrival Planner

What do I get with the free version of Arrival Planner?

The free version lets you try Arrival Planner with a daily limit. Each day, the app will calculate travel time and send arrival notifications for one calendar event.

This allows you to experience how arrival estimations and reminders work before upgrading.

What do I get with the Pro plan?

With the Pro plan, all of your calendar events receive arrival time calculations and reminders.

This includes:

  • Arrival estimations for every event
  • “Leave by” reminders for all events
  • No daily event limits

The Pro plan is designed for users who rely on Arrival Planner for their full schedule.

What is Arrival Planner?

Arrival Planner is an app that helps you get to your calendar events on time. It looks at your event location, your current position, and your chosen travel mode to calculate when you should leave and sends reminders or alarms so you do not miss your events.

How does Arrival Planner know when I need to leave?

The app combines three things:

  • Your event’s start time and location from your calendar
  • Your current location
  • Estimated travel time based on your travel mode

Using this, it calculates a “leave by” time and schedules reminders or alarms accordingly.

Does Arrival Planner store my data on a server?

No. Arrival Planner does not store your calendar data, location history, or event information on a server.

All event reading, calculations, and reminders happen locally on your device. Internet access is only used to request directions and travel time estimates.

Why does the app need access to my calendar?

Calendar access allows Arrival Planner to:

  • Show your upcoming events
  • Read event details such as title, time, and location
  • Calculate travel time and reminder schedules

The app only reads your calendar. It does not create, edit, or delete events.

Does Arrival Planner change my calendar events?

No. Arrival Planner never modifies your calendar. It only reads event information to calculate reminders.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Your location is used to calculate how long it will take to travel to your event location. This makes “leave by” times and arrival reminders accurate.

You can allow location access only while using the app, or allow background access for automatic updates when you are on the move.

Why would I allow location access “Always”?

If you allow location access in the background, Arrival Planner can:

  • Update travel time estimates when you move
  • Adjust reminders if traffic or distance changes
  • Keep alarms accurate without you opening the app

Background location is used sparingly and only for arrival-related calculations.

Does Arrival Planner track me continuously?

No. The app does not continuously track your location or store location history. Location updates are used only to recalculate travel times for upcoming events and are processed on your device.

Why does the app need notification permission?

Notifications are required to:

  • Remind you when it is time to leave
  • Trigger arrival alarms at the correct time
  • Play alarm sounds and show alerts

Arrival Planner does not send marketing, promotional, or unrelated notifications.

Can Arrival Planner send push notifications from a server?

No. All notifications are local notifications created on your device. There are no server-sent push notifications.

Does Arrival Planner work without internet?

Basic features such as viewing events and scheduled reminders continue to work. However, internet access is required to calculate or update travel time estimates and directions.

How does Arrival Planner affect battery life?

The app is designed to balance accuracy and battery usage. Background location updates are limited and only active if you grant “Always” location access. You can reduce background usage at any time by changing location permissions in system settings.

Can I use the app without granting all permissions?

Yes. You can:

  • Use calendar features without background location
  • Allow location only while using the app
  • Disable notifications if you do not want reminders

Some features may be limited if permissions are not granted.

How can I change or revoke permissions?

You can manage all permissions at any time in your device’s system settings under Arrival Planner. Changes take effect immediately.

Is my data shared with third parties?

No. Arrival Planner does not sell, share, or upload your calendar or location data. Direction and travel time requests are sent only as needed to calculate routes.

Who should I contact for support or questions?

If you have questions, feedback, or issues, please contact support through the app or the official support email listed in the App Store.
